He keeps saying "my job would be alot easier if I had fertilizer. There is no fertilizer but I give him compost which is the mods version for fertilizer. But he just keeps making crop dirt with his hoe, stands there all the dirt returning to normal (which is kinda funny to watch) but he wont plant anything.

Apparently compost isn't cutting it. Where is the fertilizer?

You should have some water near the field so the crop dirt won't return to normal dirt. It's a basic Minecraft mechanic. Also, crops grow faster if they have water near.
My farmers also kept asking for fertilizer but they were able to farm without it, so try putting some water near the fields. Maybe the farmer is bugging because of that dirt not staying crop dirt.

That makes sense. I just thought about adding water actually.

But I forgot to mention a while after making this thread the farmer did eventually plant a few things. He only has a few growing out of the entire crop. It's also in random spots too. I also found six wheat in the shelves earlier today so he's doing SOMETHING.

Mine took bonemeal as fertilizer.
